Nicola Foster - MBACP
Hi I'm Nicola and I am deeply committed to helping couples and individuals heal and repair their relationships.
I am a qualified relationship and psychosexual therapist. I specialise in supporting couples and individuals with repairing relationship issues and with problems to do with sex and intimacy.
I've been working in the field of personal development for more than 10 years. Initially, I was a coach specialising in careers. However, my own difficult experiences with relationships that seemed to end very painfully and often unexpectedly, led me to become fascinated by what makes an intimate relationship work.
Since then, I've made it my career and mission to help people build strong, healthy relationships.
I am a registered member of both the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) I adhere to its ethical guidelines and standards, assuring clients of high standards of professional care.
WHO I WORK WITH?
I work with individuals and couples who want to overcome any issues that are getting in the way of having the loving, close intimate relationships they want. I'm warmhearted and knowledgeable.
I often work with men and women who have suffered some form of sexual abuse in the past or are facing a physical issue that might have an underlying psychological cause.
I create a space that feels safe, where you can relax and be supported.
Many clients are surprised at how rewarding, engaging and even fun the process of therapy is.
Some of my values as therapist are being warm-hearted, knowledgable, non-judgmental, easy to work with, trustworthy, supportive, down-to-earth and kind.
My coaching and counselling training began in 2008 at the University of London, Birkbeck and continued with the London Diploma in Relationship and Psychosexual Therapy from 2014 -2016 (LDPRT).
I completed a 2 year placement working with NHS clients at the Local Counselling Centre in Letchworth (2015-2017).
I am informed and have completed an intial training in the Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) modality from Dr. Sue Johnson
I am also a School of Being teacher having studied and trained with acclaimed relationship and intimacy teacher Jan Day since 2010.
I'm inspired by other brilliant relationship teachers including John Welwood, Harville Hendrix and David Schnarch.
I'm a workshop facilitator in the therapy practice of Family Constellations, having completed a 2 year programme with the Centre for Systemic Constellations (2013-2015).
I continue to practice Mindfulness and Conscious Movement.
I'm fervently passionate about learning. I devour new literature and I continually invest in ongoing professional training and personal development.

But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure, Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor, Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears. Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.
Love possesses not nor would it be possessed; For love is sufficient unto love. And think not you can direct the course of love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course. Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself."
